But you kind of knew that certain DJs were on a specific radio station at a certain time during the week, and you knew where and when to find the stuff you liked. One guy might do folk rock while another did hard rock and a third might focus on bands from the UK. Unlike the Donkey - which I see a lot of folks mention.Back in the early 70s we would listen to the radio, and the DJs on the air each had a format for their show. The vocoder - y bit of the lords prayer in Sheep suggests he has something to say about that. Maybe Horses is slightly different, as well as Boxer, there's the horse that keeps blaming herself for not remembering that things are being changed and a third horse that likes wearing ribbons and flees the farm.īut I think the character that would most interest Waters is the minor character of the crow (or raven?) that basically represents religion and tells all the animals that if they behave they will be rewarded in the next life. The goats and the cows and the Horses are all pretty much covered in sheep - in terms of what Waters is using them for. Although the use of animals for human archetypes if from Animal farm, it isn't actually based on the story of the book.
